The answer is ‘Yes, but…’ We are able to build garden rooms with space enough for a bed, and even a private kitchen and bathroom. That being said, if you plan on having a room you can sleep or cook in, you will need to acquire planning permission beforehand (which you don’t need to do with a regular garden room).
